Effective
reporting to parents, pupils and staff is essential if our children are to
receive an education that meets the needs of the whole child and takes account
of parental views. Our
aims to meet the above: 1
To ensure effective, meaningful communication of
our pupils’ progress to parents, pupils and other teaching staff. 2
To assist parents, pupils and teachers in
identifying the pupil’s next steps in learning. 3
To enlighten parents as to the aims of the school
and its objectives in terms of imparting skills, attitudes and knowledge. Our
audience:
(Who are our reports for and why?) 1
Pupils:
In order that they can see what progress they have made and where their
learning will go next. 2
Parents:
In order that parents have as full a picture as possible of their
child’s progress and, working in collaboration with the class teacher identify
their child’s future learning needs. It
is also a vehicle for discussion at parents’ evenings in February/March. 3
Staff:
In order to assist in identifying attainment levels and future learning
and teaching. It is a useful focus
for discussion with pupils and parents. Primary
