Miller Institution Staff 1862 - 1909 It
is hoped in the future to collect together and print a list of the staff of the
Miller Academy and the Miller Institution for the benefit of researchers in
Education and Family History. This
project is underway but is too great a task to complete for this book.
However, since the staff numbers in the early years were small it may be
useful to publish the known staff members for almost the first half-century of
the school’s existence.
The
staffing lists are as recorded in the School logs or other administrative
returns to the Education Authority. Changes
have only been made where the understanding of the staff list can be better
understood by the reader. Lists are
not available for all years but those printed will serve to give some indication
of the numbers of staff employed and the subjects taught.
In some years it is likely that teachers are missing from the list
because the term of service lasted less than one school session and started and
finished between reporting dates.
